This position necessitates promoting strong communication between team members and important stakeholders and regional offices while maintaining consistency with organizational goals.

The person will collaborate closely with both internal and external teams to achieve strategic objectives and ensure complete adherence to internal policies, regulatory standards, exchange regulations (CME, GFEX, OTC), and ethical principles during stakeholder interactions.

Additional duties involve supervising the team’s budget revisions and handling daily operations.

Guide, direct, and inspire team members to produce results.

This role will report to the General Manager of the Business Development Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Trading and Team Leadership (50%)

• Supervise the Lithium team in carrying out both derivatives and physical Lithium transactions.
• Work together with various teams including trade operations, freight, legal, and trade, and product oversight, etc.

• Create and execute a sales strategy to boost team involvement.
• Avoid compliance violations and reduce risks, including stopping corruption.
• Enable interaction with top management and outside partners.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and revise a trading playbook that encompasses both short-term and long-term strategies.
• Enhance and grow team members’ skills by engaging actively in trading activities

Growth Strategy (10%)

• Evaluate, recognize, and cultivate companies with new vendors, partners, and business models including organized transactions and supply chain enhancement.

Financial Planning and Analysis (10%)

• Develop strategic plans for the business and create departmental budgets.

Tactics and Preparation (10%)

• Create detailed business strategies for lithium trading
• Collaborate with corporate teams to improve the infrastructure for the business, including guidelines and protocols, frameworks and administrative dashboards

Risk Mitigation (10%)

• Track counterparties’ performance, reduces risks, and oversees the book’s contact with pertinent counterparties and areas.
• Guarantees the division’s risk remains within authorized thresholds.
• Oversee the hedge book activities, guaranteeing adherence to procedures and procedures are followed, data input, P&L modifications and exposure adjustments are revised and verified daily
• Forecast possible alterations in exposure, including counterparty performance risk, pricing exposure shifts as a result of logistical delays, and formulate the optimal strategy to handle this efficiently

Market Analysis (10%)

• Guiding the team to foster enduring partnerships with industry stakeholders through trading, comprising physical users, traders, PRAs, banks, and various advisors

• Establish market research capabilities, comprising supply and demand databases

• Oversee day-to-day technical management of assigned vessels, including maintenance, repairs, and dry-dockings.
• Ensure compliance with flag state, class, statutory regulations, and company technical standards.
• Manage planned maintenance systems (PMS), defect reporting, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with shipyards, service providers, makers, and suppliers for repairs and spares.
• Prepare and control technical budgets, monitor costs, and ensure cost-effective execution.
• Provide technical support to vessels, Masters, and Chief Engineers, including troubleshooting and incident follow-ups.
• Participate in dry-dock planning, execution, and post-dock evaluation.
• Work closely with HSQE, operations, and commercial teams to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
• Review technical performance data and implement improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Class 1 or Class 2 Marine Engineer Certificate, or equivalent maritime engineering qualification.
• Prior experience as a Technical Superintendent managing tanker vessels is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, dry-docking, and regulatory requirements.
• Good budgeting, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple vessels simultaneously.

• Assist the Senior Technical Manager in overseeing the technical operations of a fleet of tankers.
• Manage daily maintenance and repair activities, budget survey schedules, and docking operations.
• Maintain updated records of class status and coordinate with Classification Societies, Suppliers, and Contractors for daily operations.
• Ensure adherence to statutory requirements under ISM, ISPS, and MLC.
• Monitor, coordinate, and attend vessel inspections by oil majors, statutory surveys, and follow up on related matters.
• Conduct and report on incident/accident investigations.

Requirements:

• Sea-going experience as a Marine Engineer or atleast 1 year of shore experience as technical superintendent managing tankers.
• MOT Engineer Certification (Class 1 or Class 2)
• Strong organizational skills with a hands-on approach to technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Independent, resourceful, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Willingness and ability to travel on short notice as needed.

• To review / issue work permits and risk assessments for various tasks in liaison with the technical department.

• To carry out shipboard and shore-based training of officers and crew in matters pertaining to tanker operations, quality management systems and other matters as deemed appropriate from time to time.

• To attend vessels from time to time for purpose of carrying out shipboard inspections and / or for supervising hold cleaning/ tank cleaning, cargo operations or any other matters.

• To assist with revisions of QHSE manuals and / or preparation of new QHSE manuals.

• To assist with the preparation of various safety bulletins / safety alerts.

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma or equivalent in Navigation/Internationally recognized shipping degree/qualification.

• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as Master on Dry Cargo the relevant type of vessel being recruited for.

• Basic knowledge of Energy Management Systems and / or energy conservation methods is an advantage

• Coordinate daily operations of tug and barge activities, particularly for long ocean towage voyages.

Responsibilities:

• Champion and enforce vessel compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure vessels are operationally ready and capable of executing voyages and cargo operations safely and efficiently.
• Organise, coordinate, and manage all statutory, class, and RO audits and inspections, including ISM, ISPS, and MLC.
• Plan, administer, and follow up on vetting inspections, including preparation and submission through the OCIMF SIRE system.
• Manage navigational safety oversight, including the review and endorsement of passage plans and the conduct of navigation audits.
• Ensure vessels comply with terminal rules, operator instructions, oil major standards, and charterer requirements.
• Handle and coordinate matters relating to Flag State and Port State authorities.
• Ensure Q88 and HVPQ information is accurate, complete, and continuously updated.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on changes in legislation, requirements, and industry best practices.
• Review, maintain, and enhance the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).

Requirements:

• Seagoing experience as a Master (minimum CoC Class 1 or 2), or at least 2 years of relevant shore-based experience in HSE management and regulatory compliance for product or chemical tankers.
