Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and commissioning of electrical systems for marine and shipbuilding projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and coordinating with internal teams, clients, and equipment suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and develop electrical engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, cable termination drawings, and testing procedures.
  • Perform electrical load analysis, power system studies, and equipment sizing, including switchboards, circuit breakers, cable trays, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor starter panels.
  • Develop and maintain engineering drawing registers and technical documentation in accordance with project schedules.
  • Review technical specifications and provide engineering solutions that meet project requirements and applicable industry standards.
  • Support the design and integration of electrical systems, including power generation and distribution, propulsion, integrated automation systems (IAS), alarm and monitoring systems, fire detection and protection systems, navigation, communication, and public address/general alarm (PAGA) systems.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful system integration and project execution.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT), commissioning activities, system testing, and troubleshooting where required.
    Support engineering reviews, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Prepare technical reports and provide engineering support throughout vessel construction and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in marine electrical engineering, shipbuilding, or a related industry.
  • Experience with marine electrical systems, power generation and distribution, integrated automation systems (IAS), and vessel electrical design.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering standards, marine industry practices, and system integration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of shipbuilding processes and the ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Willingness and ability to work full-time in Batam, Indonesia.
