Jason Tay, Managing Partner/Owner
Jason’s qualification includes a Bachelor Degree in Communication & Language and an Advanced Diploma in Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering. With 17 years of experience under his belt, Jason started off his career with the Singapore Navy where he spend 10 years sailing onboard naval vessels and in shipyards as an owner representative for new building projects.
Jason’s second career switch led him to his first experience to recruitment, where he started off as a consultant with only 3 persons in the business. In 6 years, the team grew up to a size of 35 and Jason rose up as Director in the business. He left the company in April 2014 and is now back in the game as Managing Director for Direct Search Global.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and golfing.

Ryan Kumar, Managing Partner/Owner
Ryan is an experienced business development individual with a proven track record of sales in the shipping & maritime sector. He has a total of 13 years of sales experience with nine years solely in the shipping & maritime sector.
Over the past nine years, Ryan’s focus has been in the shipping industry where he has done subscription & event sales as well as specialized shipping & marine recruitment. Ryan has held various roles in recruitment where he has done the basic recruiting and managed a team before moving to a Business Manager role. He is well networked and is at the forefront of many shipping related networking events in Singapore.
Outside of work, Ryan spends a lot of time with his family and loves watching football. He is a huge Liverpool fan and loves reading be it the news or books.
