Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Review monthly trade-related accounts payable postings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review monthly journal vouchers and accounting entries.
- Prepare monthly financial schedules and supporting documentation.
- Manage incoming accounts receivable funds, issue internal notifications and apply receipts accurately.
- Prepare and input quarterly consolidation packages.
- Review weekly short-term cash-flow projections and quarterly long-term cash-flow forecasts.
- Perform monthly voyage accrual runs and ensure expenses are properly captured.
- Coordinate the annual General and Administrative Expense budget.
- Collate divisional budgets under a single reporting entity.
- Prepare annual AIS reporting and support quarterly survey submissions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities where required.
- Support audits and provide relevant financial schedules and documentation.
- Undertake ad hoc finance and accounting assignments as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in a full-set accounting, financial reporting or similar finance position.
- Experience within the shipping, maritime or logistics industry would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with voyage accounting or voyage accruals would be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, consolidation and cash-flow forecasting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to manage recurring monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Available to commit to a one-year contract.
