Job Description
Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage the complete accounting function, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Generate timely and accurate management reports to support business decision-making.
- Ensure the timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
Financial Planning & Cash Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and corporate policies.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities during audits and financial reviews.
- Support the preparation and submission of statutory and tax-related filings.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Review, implement, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure proper risk management and governance practices are maintained within the finance function.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting team to ensure high levels of performance and professional development.
- Allocate responsibilities, review work quality, and provide guidance on accounting matters.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Business Support
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Assist senior management with special projects, business initiatives, and ad hoc financial assignments as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, reporting, and team management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with the capability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
