Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technical specifications for newbuilding, repair, and conversion assignments.
  • Oversee engineering project coordination with designers, clients, class societies, yard production teams, and vendors to meet compliance and delivery deadlines.
  • Work with internal section engineers to prepare drawing lists, schedules, and respond to project-related feedback.
  • Organise and attend technical meetings in Batam, Singapore, or other locations as required.
  • Manage correspondence and technical information flow between designers, class, clients, vendors, yards, and system integrators.
  • Interpret contract terms, technical and equipment specifications, and scope of work/supply to fulfil design obligations.
  • Ensure timely execution of design and engineering production plans for awarded projects.
  • Monitor designers’ drawing progress, track closure of classification review comments, manage vendor specifications, and oversee production drawing schedules.
  • Read and interpret design drawings, and retrieve classification rules and maritime regulations for review.
  • Collaborate with engineers to draft written responses on technical matters and follow up until resolution.
  • Work with the document controller to maintain proper filing of emails, drawings, documents, drawing lists, and vendor specifications.
  • Operate independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Polytechnic Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a project engineering role within the marine or offshore industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to track correspondence, draft meeting minutes, and manage engineering information/document flow to ensure compliance and on-schedule delivery.
  • Comfortable engaging and conversing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to Batam or other countries for technical meetings when needed.
