Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engineering support and assist the marketing team in retaining existing clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities within the shipbuilding division.
- Support commercial newbuild and ship repair teams during tender exercises for newbuilding and conversion projects.
- Assess contract terms, technical specifications, and equipment requirements to ensure alignment with design obligations.
- Develop initial design concepts that support newbuilding tender submissions.
- Establish drawing schedules and coordinate technical meetings with clients, classification societies, designers, vendors, and system integrators.
- Implement design and engineering production plans for awarded newbuilding projects.
- Interpret classification rules and maritime regulations; review and understand design drawings.
- Collaborate effectively within a team while also handling tasks independently.
Requirements
- Polytechnic Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in the marine or offshore sectors.
- Sound understanding of shipbuilding processes and project workflows; capable of reviewing technical specifications and engaging in client discussions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Willingness to travel overseas (e.g., Indonesia, Taiwan, and other countries) for technical meetings.
