Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage daily transshipment operations to ensure smooth cargo movement through designated ports and terminals.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, port operators, depots, and logistics service providers to facilitate cargo transfers.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and vessel movements to ensure timely transshipment and minimise delays.
  • Prepare, verify, and process shipping and logistics documentation, including Bills of Lading, manifests, delivery orders, and customs-related documents where applicable.
  • Track cargo status and provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues such as cargo delays, documentation discrepancies, damaged cargo, or missed connections.
  • Coordinate inland transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery where required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, international shipping regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce logistics expenses.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and prepare operational reports and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, customer service, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, container operations, or transshipment operations.
  • Good understanding of container shipping, vessel schedules, transshipment processes, and international logistics.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation and customs procedures will be an advantage.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP, TMS, or shipping management systems is advantageous.
  • Meticulous, organised, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
