Job Title: Chartering & Vessel Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the chartering and procurement of Handysize to Panamax vessels for international dry bulk cargo movements.
- Develop and execute chartering strategies across spot, period, and COA business to support commercial and operational objectives.
- Negotiate charter party agreements with shipowners, operators, and brokers, ensuring commercially competitive and operationally sound terms.
- Provide freight market intelligence, vessel availability, and pricing guidance to support commercial and trading decisions.
- Monitor freight markets, vessel supply, port conditions, and geopolitical developments that may impact voyage execution and freight costs.
- Oversee the complete post-fixture process, including voyage execution, operational coordination, claims management, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate closely with owners, charterers, agents, terminals, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient vessel operations and timely cargo delivery.
- Manage laytime, demurrage, despatch, freight invoicing, voyage reporting, and settlement processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and process standardization.
- Support the implementation and optimization of digital shipping platforms, including IMOS and other operational systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation, data analytics, and digital technologies.
- Oversee charter party disputes, insurance claims, and contractual matters while ensuring compliance with applicable maritime regulations and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Chartering and Vessel Operations team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, brokers, operators, customers, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Work closely with commercial, finance, and operations teams to align business objectives with safe and efficient vessel operations.
