Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end containerized metal and mineral cargo shipments from contract confirmation to final delivery.
- Coordinate shipments of commodities including copper cathodes, aluminium products, zinc, lead, nickel, ferroalloys, lithium products, steel products, concentrates, and other non-ferrous metals.
- Arrange container bookings with shipping lines and monitor vessel schedules to ensure timely shipment execution.
- Liaise with traders, suppliers, customers, warehouses, terminals, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and overseas agents throughout the execution process.
- Prepare, review, and endorse shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Weight Certificates, Inspection Certificates, and customs documentation.
- Coordinate cargo inspections with independent surveyors and inspection companies.
- Monitor cargo readiness, vessel schedules, container availability, and shipment milestones.
- Manage shipment amendments, booking changes, vessel rollovers, and operational issues to minimise delays.
- Verify operational costs including ocean freight, terminal handling charges, container detention, demurrage, warehousing, inspection fees, trucking, and related logistics expenses.
- Process operational costs and maintain accurate trade records within SAP/ERP systems.
- Support inventory reconciliation and monitor warehouse stock movements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, Incoterms, Letters of Credit, trade regulations, and internal operating procedures.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial, Finance, Logistics, and Risk teams to facilitate efficient trade execution.
- Prepare shipment status reports, operational KPIs, and trade execution analysis.
