Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist in cargo nomination activities and ensure accurate processing of related transaction records.
  • Verify, reconcile, and enter secondary operational expenses, including storage costs, inspection fees, GST, and other applicable charges into the SAP system.
  • Maintain and utilize Power BI dashboards to track, analyze, and report operational cost data and performance indicators.
  • Evaluate existing cost management and data entry processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
  • Support user testing, validation, and implementation activities for scheduling system enhancements and SAP upgrades.
  • Provide data analysis, reporting, and operational insights to support daily Operations activities.
  • Coordinate and assist with operational licensing requirements, regulatory compliance matters, and internal audit processes.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute cargo and shipping documentation to external parties, ensuring accuracy and adherence to required timelines.
  • Provide scheduling assistance and operational coverage during manpower shortages, leave periods, or peak workload situations, independently handling routine scheduling responsibilities when necessary.
  • Collaborate with traders, schedulers, inspectors, agents, terminal representatives, and internal departments to facilitate smooth operational execution and cost administration.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the end-to-end scheduling and operational workflow to effectively support execution and cost management functions.
  • Maintain, organize, and archive operational records and documents in accordance with established document control and retention policies.
  • Participate in operational administration, cost monitoring activities, process optimization projects, and other assigned initiatives.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle data and documentation accurately.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, with strong data management capabilities.
  • Experience in developing dashboards, automating workflows, and utilizing analytical tools such as Power BI and Python.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Able to perform under tight deadlines, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Exposure to shipping, marine operations, vessel scheduling, or logistics functions is an advantage.
  • Experience in operational support, SAP transactions, and cost administration is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cargo operations, terminal activities, marine logistics, and related operational cost structures.
  • Ability to provide scheduling support and contribute to workload management during operational coverage requirements.
