- Manage end-to-end trade operations, ensuring shipments are executed in accordance with contractual obligations, trade regulations, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate shipment activities including shipping instructions, customs declarations, insurance applications, and shipping documentation.
- Prepare, review, and verify shipping documents to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Letters of Credit (LC).
- Process supplier, freight forwarder, warehouse, and other operational payments, while generating customer invoices.
- Liaise with banks for LC issuance, negotiation, and document processing.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including stock reconciliation, inventory releases, receipts, and warehouse billing.
- Monitor shipment progress, resolve operational issues, and maintain accurate shipment records in internal systems.
- Update operational data relating to quantities, pricing, shipments, invoices, receivables, payables, and cash flow.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external stakeholders, warehouses, and international offices to ensure seamless trade operations and timely documentation.
- Follow up on customer payments and assist in month-end reconciliation and reporting.
- Perform additional operational tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in trade operations or a related field.
- Experience handling non-ferrous commodities (e.g., aluminium, copper, molybdenum), warehouse warranting, or container shipments is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of international trade documentation, Letters of Credit (UCP600), and bank negotiation processes.
- Knowledge of Incoterms such as CIF, CFR, and EXW.
- Experience managing container shipments and warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Knowledge of LME pricing and warehouse regulations is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Effective time management and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Willing to work beyond regular business hours when required to support international operations and different time zones.
