Job Description

Fleet and Journey Oversight

  • Oversee the operational effectiveness of a specific fleet of crude oil, products, or chemicals.

tankers from contract to cargo handover.

  • Facilitate voyage scheduling, port visits,fuelprocurement, and cargo handling in close partnership.

Regulatory and Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

  • Guaranteecompleteadherenceto MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM, ISPS, MLC, and all relevant flag state and

regulations of the port state.

  • Collaborate with the QHSE team to uphold the Safety Management System (SMS) and promote a

robust safety culture throughout the fleet.

 

Technical Management

  • Manage off-hire procedures and guaranteepromptaddressing of vessel issues.

 

Business & Financial

  • Track operational expensesinrelationtothe budget and pinpointareas for cost savings.

 

Management of Stakeholders

  • Act as the main contact for vessel Captains, port representatives, terminals, inspectors, and

charterers regarding operational issues.

  • Establish and nurturesolidconnections with essential stakeholders suchas charterers and cargo.

Requirements

 

  • At least 5–8 years of experience in tanker operations, including aminimum of 3 years.

in a land-based operational position.

  • Experience at sea as a deck officer on tankers is strongly favored (Chief

Officer or Master rank).

  • Comprehensive understanding of crude oil, clean petroleum products (CPP), or chemicals

operations involving tankers.

Specialized Expertise

  • Clear comprehension of MARPOL Annex I/II, SOLAS, ISM Code,

CDI/OCIMF/SIRE evaluation procedures and charter agreement conditions.

  • Knowledge of ECDIS, VMS, and software for fleet management (e.g., AMOS,

DNV Nauticus, or comparable.

Abilities & Qualities

  • Exceptional capability to make decisions under stress with keen focus on

specifics.

  • Proficient communicator skilled in overseeing several vessels and

priorities at the same time.

  • Business-oriented with a solid understanding of voyage financials and

demurrage.

  • Robust leadership qualities with the capacity to sway and direct Masters and

integrate teams from a distance

  • Undergraduate degree in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, or a similardiscipline

(or comparable maritime experience).

  • STCW qualification (OOW or Master Mariner CoC is preferred).
  • Applicable shore-based tasks or experience afterthefixture
