Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end chartering activities for CPP cargo movements across regional and international markets
  • Negotiate spot and time charter fixtures with shipowners, brokers, and operators
  • Monitor freight markets, vessel availability, and market trends to support trading decisions
  • Optimize voyage economics, including freight calculations, TCE analysis, and bunker planning
  • Work closely with traders to align freight strategy with cargo trading opportunities
  • Handle voyage estimates, fixture negotiations, and post-fixture commercial follow-up
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, brokers, and key market participants
  • Evaluate shipping risks, operational constraints, and market exposure for cargo movements
  • Ensure compliance with charter party terms, operational requirements, and internal risk controls
  • Support strategic freight procurement and long-term vessel planning where required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in CPP tanker chartering, commercial shipping, or oil trading operations
  • Strong understanding of tanker markets, freight economics, voyage planning, and charter party terms
  • Experience working within an oil trading house, shipowner, or tanker operator environment
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with freight exposure management and market intelligence
  • Excellent communication and commercial decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment
