Job Description
We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations for our shipping business. You will oversee budgeting, cost control, reporting, and compliance, with a focus on managing cash flow and monitoring operational expenses such as port charges, chartering costs, freight costing, and other vessel-related expenses.
Key Responsibilities

Manage full finance functions: general ledger, AR/AP, financial reporting.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management.

Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for shipping operations.

Track and control operations cost, including port charges, chartering expense, freight costing, bunker fuel, and logistics costs.

Conduct financial analysis to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and multi-currency transactions.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.

Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks.

Supervise and develop a small finance team.
Requirements

Experience: 8–10 years in finance/accounting, preferably in shipping, logistics, freight, or trading.

Knowledge:Â Strong grasp of financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, and cash flow management.

Industry exposure:Â Familiarity with shipping cost elements (chartering, port charges, freight costing, bunker) is a strong advantage.

Technical skills:Â Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Soft skills:Â Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred.
