Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring the safe operation and navigation of LPG vessels within the fleet.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Monitor vessel compliance with international regulations, industry standards, and flag state requirements.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Review vessel reports and provide guidance to Masters on operational and safety matters.
- Participate in vessel inspections, audits, and assessments as required.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of navigational, cargo, and marine operational procedures.
- Liaise with shipboard personnel and provide operational support when required.
- Assist in vetting preparations and follow-up actions arising from inspections.
- Monitor crew performance and identify training and competency development needs.
- Support emergency response activities and participate in drills and exercises.
- Maintain effective communication with internal departments, vessel crews, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s Certificate of Competency (Class 1) or Chief Officer experience on LPG carriers.
- Minimum 1 year of shore-based experience in a marine, fleet, or operational role preferred.
- Strong understanding of LPG vessel operations, cargo handling, navigation, and safety management systems.
- Familiarity with IMO regulations, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and OCIMF guidelines.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections, and vetting processes is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
