Job Description

The Technical Superintendent oversees the technical management and operational performance of assigned oil tanker vessels, ensuring they comply with industry standards and company requirements.

Reporting Line: Vessel Manager / Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and enhance the technical condition, efficiency, and performance of assigned vessels.
• Ensure all vessel certifications and documentation are properly maintained, updated, and archived.
• Implement and monitor the company’s planned maintenance system effectively.
• Coordinate and manage class, statutory, and other mandatory vessel inspections and surveys.
• Plan, supervise, and control dry-docking activities, repairs, and maintenance projects.
• Evaluate and support crew performance to promote operational excellence onboard.
• Develop, oversee, and control vessel technical budgets and related expenditures.
• Carry out additional duties and assignments as required by management.

Requirements:
• Previous tanker sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer holding at least a Class 2 or Class 3 Certificate of Competency (COC), or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Technical Superintendent handling oil or bunker tankers.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and team management capabilities.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
