Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with ship owners, ship managers, fleet operators, shipyards, and other maritime stakeholders.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business and customer retention.
• Register the organisation with new customers and secure inclusion in approved vendor lists.
• Achieve annual sales, revenue, and customer retention targets.
• Act as the primary commercial contact for customer enquiries and opportunities.
• Work closely with Service and Technical teams to convert quotations into confirmed orders.
• Secure new Fleet Service Agreements (FSA) and manage the renewal of existing agreements.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate quotations, tenders, commercial proposals, and service contracts.
• Develop and implement sales strategies for Life-Saving Appliances (LSA), Fire-Fighting Equipment (FFE), and technical service solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with Technical, Service, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure successful project execution and commercial risk management.
• Ensure commercial activities comply with internal procedures, contractual requirements, quality standards, and applicable maritime regulations.
• Coordinate with shipyards, repair facilities, Technical Superintendents, and Fleet Managers on upcoming service and dry-dock opportunities.
• Represent the organisation at client meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and prepare regular sales performance reports.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional sales or commercial management certification is an advantage.
• At least 8 years of experience in marine services, ship management, technical sales, or commercial management within the maritime industry.
• Proven experience in business development, key account management, and commercial contract negotiation.
• Strong knowledge of Life-Saving Appliances (LSA), Fire-Fighting Equipment (FFE), SOLAS, the LSA Code, and relevant maritime regulations.
• Good technical understanding of marine safety systems and technical service operations.
• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Self-motivated, commercially driven, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
