Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support and monitor marine and cargo operations of assigned LPG vessels and other vessels when required
- Track vessel activities during critical operations such as cargo loading/discharging, tank preparation, cargo grade changes, and STS operations, providing guidance where necessary
- Assist in pre-vetting preparation and Port State Control (PSC) readiness, including attending onboard inspections when required
- Coordinate SIRE / CDI inspections and support the maintenance of approvals from charterers, terminals, and oil majors
- Work with vessel stakeholders to develop corrective and preventive actions for vetting observations and submit responses to relevant parties (e.g. OCIMF, oil majors)
- Support incident and accident investigations, including follow-up on corrective actions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational procedures and safety manuals for LPG vessel operations
- Assist in charter party compliance matters and maintain effective communication with charterers when required
- Ensure vessels operate in compliance with ISM Code, company SMS, and applicable international maritime regulations
- Support vessels in meeting flag state, port state, class, and charterer requirements
- Assist in implementing operational campaigns and safety initiatives across the fleet
- Act as backup support for operational and HSEQ matters in the absence of the Marine & HSEQ Manager
Requirements
Sea Experience:
- Minimum 36 months sailing experience as a Deck Officer on pressurised LPG carriers
- At least 18 months experience as Chief Officer (CO)
- Candidates with a minimum of 12 months as Chief Officer may be considered
Certifications:
- ISM / ISO training is preferred but not mandatory
- Training can be provided after joining if required
Other Requirements:
- Open to candidates transitioning directly from sea (no prior shore experience required)
- Must hold at least Chief Officer rank
- Good understanding of LPG vessel operations and safety standards
- Strong communication and coordination skills
