Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Voyage Operations Specialists / Coordinators while independently managing daily voyage operations activities.
  • Oversee vessel operations and ensure smooth execution of voyages in accordance with operational requirements and business objectives.
  • Provide guidance, training, cross-training, and development support to team members.
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders, vessel owners, terminals, agents, charterers, and other external parties to ensure efficient vessel operations.
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for assigned vessels and provide support during operational issues when required.
  • Monitor voyage performance, operational efficiency, and ensure timely communication of updates and operational changes.
  • Support optimization of vessel utilization and operational processes to improve overall performance and service delivery.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements, operational metrics, and system enhancements.
  • Maintain strong understanding of marine operational risks and support compliance with operational and safety requirements.
  • Provide backup support across different voyage operations functions when necessary.
  • Utilize marine operating systems and related platforms for voyage planning, execution, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in marine operations, preferably within tanker, barge, or vessel operations.
  • Strong understanding of marine transportation, logistics, dispatching, and voyage operations processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and effectively manage stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning new operational systems.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant industry experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with marine operating systems such as IMOS or similar platforms will be an added advantage.
