Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Vessel Manager to oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient technical management of Dive Support Vessels (DSVs) for a ship management company based in Singapore.
The Vessel Manager will be responsible for the overall technical performance and maintenance of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with company standards, class, flag, and applicable international regulations. The role will involve close coordination with vessel crews, shore-based teams, clients, class, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel operations and high technical standards.
- Manage the overall technical performance and maintenance of assigned DSVs.
- Ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, inspections, surveys, and technical projects.
- Coordinate with Masters, Chief Engineers, vessel crews, class societies, flag authorities, and external contractors.
- Monitor and manage vessel budgets, maintenance costs, repairs, and procurement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, class, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to vessel teams and resolve operational and technical issues.
- Monitor planned maintenance systems and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Support vessel mobilization, demobilization, dry-docking, upgrades, and major repair projects where required.
- Review vessel performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate technical records and prepare relevant reports for management.
- Ensure effective implementation of company policies, procedures, and safety standards across assigned vessels.
Requirements
- Degree or relevant qualification in Marine Engineering, Marine Operations, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Vessel Manager, Technical Superintendent, or Technical Manager.
- Strong experience managing Dive Support Vessels (DSVs) or similar offshore/subsea vessels.
- Previous Chief Engineer experience on offshore vessels is highly preferred.
- Previous sailing experience on a DSV will be a strong advantage.
- Experience with DP3 vessels is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, class, flag, and statutory requirements.
- Good understanding of offshore and subsea vessel operations.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with vessel crews, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel when required for vessel visits, inspections, dry-docking, and other operational matters.
- EU passport holder / European national preferred.
- Candidates with strong DSV/offshore shore-based experience will be given priority.
