Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end operational execution of physical energy trades from contract issuance through to final settlement.
- Coordinate with traders, counterparties, vessel owners, terminals, inspectors, agents and surveyors to ensure timely cargo movements.
- Review and administer sales and purchase contracts to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Prepare and manage trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, certificates, cargo documents and Letters of Credit.
- Monitor vessel schedules, cargo loading and discharge operations, and proactively resolve operational issues.
- Liaise with finance teams on invoicing, payment collections, trade finance documentation and settlement requirements.
- Track inventory movements, cargo nominations and delivery schedules across multiple trading transactions.
- Support claims handling, demurrage and operational dispute resolution where required.
- Maintain accurate trade records within internal trading systems and ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Collaborate with traders and commercial teams to identify and mitigate operational risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in trade operations within the oil, gas, energy or commodity trading industry.
- Experience managing physical commodity transactions and vessel operations.
- Good understanding of international trade documentation, Incoterms and Letters of Credit (UCP 600).
- Familiarity with tanker operations, shipping documentation and trade finance processes is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with CTRM or ERP systems will be an advantage.
