Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end operational execution of physical energy trades from contract issuance through to final settlement.
  • Coordinate with traders, counterparties, vessel owners, terminals, inspectors, agents and surveyors to ensure timely cargo movements.
  • Review and administer sales and purchase contracts to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and manage trade documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, certificates, cargo documents and Letters of Credit.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, cargo loading and discharge operations, and proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Liaise with finance teams on invoicing, payment collections, trade finance documentation and settlement requirements.
  • Track inventory movements, cargo nominations and delivery schedules across multiple trading transactions.
  • Support claims handling, demurrage and operational dispute resolution where required.
  • Maintain accurate trade records within internal trading systems and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with traders and commercial teams to identify and mitigate operational risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trade operations within the oil, gas, energy or commodity trading industry.
  • Experience managing physical commodity transactions and vessel operations.
  • Good understanding of international trade documentation, Incoterms and Letters of Credit (UCP 600).
  • Familiarity with tanker operations, shipping documentation and trade finance processes is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with CTRM or ERP systems will be an advantage.
