Job Description

  • Lead the technical management of assigned vessels, ensuring they are maintained in a safe, efficient, and seaworthy condition.
  • Oversee planned maintenance systems, machinery performance, repairs, dry-docking, and vessel modification projects.
  • Ensure compliance with classification society requirements, flag state regulations, statutory requirements, ISM Code, and company policies.
  • Coordinate vessel inspections, audits, surveys, certification renewals, and the timely resolution of technical deficiencies.
  • Manage the procurement of technical stores, spare parts, equipment, and consumables while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations, QHSSE, and other stakeholders to implement and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to Technical Superintendents and the wider technical team.
  • Develop and monitor technical budgets, maintenance schedules, KPIs, and cost control initiatives.
    Conduct vessel visits to assess technical performance, support crews, and verify maintenance standards.
  • Lead or participate in technical incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including exercising stop-work authority where necessary

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of planned maintenance systems, dry-docking, machinery maintenance, and marine engineering principles.
    Good understanding of classification society rules, flag state regulations, ISM Code, ISPS Code,
  • MARPOL, SOLAS, and other applicable maritime regulations.
  • Experience managing technical budgets, procurement, contractors, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership, people management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and vessel maintenance or fleet management software.
  • Willingness to travel for vessel inspections, dry-docking, and operational requirements as needed.
