  • Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Technical Department, ensuring appropriate controls and safeguards are in place to manage identified risks.
  • Ensure effective implementation and continuous compliance with the Company’s Management System.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Management System across vessels under full management.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and improvement of company procedures and processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the Technical Department.
  • Drive and support a strong safety culture, environmental awareness, and energy efficiency within the department.
  • Ensure vessels under management are operated and maintained in a safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective manner.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and technical support to the Technical Department.
  • Participate in the selection and interviewing of Technical Superintendents together with Top Management.
  • Work closely with other Technical Fleet Managers and Senior Technical Superintendents to ensure effective coordination and continuity of technical operations.
  • Provide cover and support to other Technical Fleet Managers or Senior Technical Superintendents when required.
  • Report directly to Top Management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with a ship management company as a Technical Superintendent or in a relevant managerial position.
  • Strong knowledge of the marine industry, applicable maritime rules, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vessel machinery, systems, maintenance, and operations relevant to the managed fleet.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with senior management and technical personnel.
  • Strong organizational, planning, risk management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good understanding of safety, environmental, and energy management requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
