Job Description
The Technical Fleet Manager oversees the technical management of the fleet, ensuring vessels are operated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and international maritime regulations. The role is responsible for leading the Technical Department, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the effective implementation of the Company’s Management System.
Requirements:
- At least three years of experience with the company as a Technical Superintendent or in a managerial role.
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and team management skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the maritime industry, including relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Strong technical expertise in managing vessels within the assigned fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Technical Department while ensuring appropriate risk management measures are in place.
- Ensure full understanding, implementation, and continuous compliance with the Company’s Management System across the fleet.
- Contribute to the development, review, and enhancement of company procedures and management processes.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, environmental responsibility, and energy efficiency throughout the department.
- Monitor vessel compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensure vessels under full technical management are maintained and operated safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of Technical Superintendents in collaboration with senior management.
- Maintain accountability to Top Management for the overall performance of the Technical Department.
- Collaborate closely with fellow Technical Fleet Managers to ensure effective communication, operational consistency, and seamless coverage during absences, with support from Senior Technical Superintendents when required.
