Job Description

Role Overview

The Sale & Purchase (S&P) Shipbroker is responsible for originating, negotiating, and concluding vessel sale and purchase transactions on behalf of shipowners, investors, financial institutions, and buyers. The role requires strong commercial acumen, market intelligence, negotiation skills, and the ability to develop long-term relationships within the global maritime industry.

The successful candidate will actively source opportunities, advise clients on vessel valuations and market trends, coordinate due diligence processes, and manage transactions from initial discussions through to successful closing.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, buyers, investors, operators, and financial institutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the global Sale & Purchase market.
  • Expand the company’s client network through regular client visits and industry networking.
  • Generate brokerage opportunities across various vessel segments.

Sale & Purchase Transactions

  • Market vessels for sale to potential buyers worldwide.
  • Source suitable vessels based on clients’ purchasing requirements.
  • Conduct negotiations between buyers and sellers.
  • Prepare and negotiate Letters of Intent (LOI), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and other transaction documentation.
  • Coordinate the entire transaction process from initial enquiry to successful delivery.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor global shipping markets and vessel values.
  • Prepare valuation reports and market updates for clients.
  • Analyze fleet movements, newbuilding activity, demolition trends, and market developments.
  • Advise clients on investment opportunities and market timing.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand clients’ fleet expansion, disposal, and investment strategies.
  • Provide professional advice on vessel acquisitions and disposals.
  • Maintain regular communication with international clients across different time zones.
