Job Description

Role Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth by developing new client relationships and managing existing accounts within the maritime sector. The role focuses on promoting technical services, spare parts, and engineering solutions to shipowners, ship managers, and operators, ensuring revenue targets are achieved while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the maritime industry
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, technical managers, and key decision-makers
  • Promote and sell marine technical services, including engine repair, maintenance, and overhaul solutions
  • Generate and follow up on leads, inquiries, and service opportunities
  • Prepare and submit commercial proposals and quotations aligned with client requirements
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to close deals
  • Coordinate with technical and operations teams to ensure feasibility and successful delivery of services
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to support strategic growth
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall business development goals
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and client interactions

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Proven experience in sales or business development within the maritime, shipping, or marine engineering industry
  • Strong understanding of marine engines, spare parts, and technical services is highly preferred
  • Existing network with shipowners, ship managers, or maritime stakeholders is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts
  • Results-driven with a strong commercial mindset

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seagoing experience (e.g., Marine Engineer) is an advantage
  • Experience in technical service sales or marine equipment supply
  • Familiarity with engine makers and marine systems
