Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine engines, auxiliary machinery, steering systems, cargo pumps, and other vessel equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, fuel, cooling, exhaust, and related shipboard systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure the safe and efficient operation of onboard equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of the engine room and work areas during onboard service.
  • Prepare service reports detailing inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation, and equipment history using maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support efficient maintenance operations and vessel reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers or technicians when required.
  • Perform other related technical duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in marine service, maintenance, or repair of vessel machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of marine engines, auxiliary equipment, cargo pumps, and shipboard mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing mechanical faults and using marine diagnostic and testing equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and equipment schematics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically fit and willing to work onboard vessels and in demanding operational environments.
