Marine Electrical Service Engineer (M18639)

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components on board ships.
Perform testing and calibration of gas detection equipment in the workshop.
Oversee and coordinate work performed by external contractors as required.
Support vessel crews and Superintendents in accurately identifying and ordering spare parts.
Prepare and submit detailed service reports upon completion of work.

Requirements:

Minimum Higher Nitec or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience as a Marine Service Engineer, preferably in electrical systems.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings.
Practical knowledge of shipboard electrical systems, including:
- Engine control and alarm systems
- Fire alarm systems
- CO₂ and water mist systems
- OWS / ODME equipment
- Ballast Water Management Systems
- Cargo monitoring systems
Willingness to work outside regular hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Ability to perform duties at anchorage and in shipyard environments.
Adaptable to changing work conditions and schedules.
Strong desire to learn and develop skills related to new products and systems.
High level of professionalism and work ethic.
Effective team player with experience in multidisciplinary settings.
Competent in handling communications and situations with ship crew professionally.
Proficient in using business computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
