  • Provide technical and operational consultancy to shipowners, managers, insurers, legal firms, and other maritime stakeholders.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, condition surveys, and vessel assessments across various vessel types, with preference for tanker experience.
  • Investigate marine incidents, accidents, and casualties, and prepare detailed technical reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Deliver expert advice on vessel operations, safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Review technical documentation, maintenance records, and operational procedures to assess compliance with international maritime regulations.
  • Support clients in claims, disputes, litigation, and arbitration by providing technical expertise and professional opinions when required.
  • Liaise with vessel operators, port authorities, classification societies, flag administrations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend vessels, ports, and offshore locations as required to conduct surveys, inspections, and investigations.
  • Stay up to date with changes in international maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and professional reports within agreed timelines.

Requirements

  • Master Mariner (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
  • Previous sailing experience as Master on commercial vessels is essential.
  • Tanker sailing experience as Master is highly preferred for at least one of the available positions.
  • Previous experience in marine consultancy, marine surveying, technical management, or a related shore-based maritime role is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of IMO regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, ISPS Code, and other applicable international maritime standards.
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Able to work independently while managing multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and attend vessels or client sites as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
