paraphrase this. just jd and requirements no sub sub. remove company name if there is We are looking for a Lawyer to join our Singapore office, working with Gard’s Defence and P&I Clients across the Asia-Pacific region.
The role involves managing a busy case load, giving on-the-spot legal advice, managing external lawyers involved in complex litigation and claims, and giving presentations and workshops to Gard’s Members and Clients. You will work in cooperation with our experienced teams in Singapore and Gard’s other global offices. Managing Member and broker relationships will be crucial, as will the ability to fit into a close-knit team, hence good interpersonal skills are essential.
We are seeking a qualified lawyer with strong technical skills, commercial awareness, and the confidence to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will be expected to provide legal assistance to colleagues working in other claims processes.
You will be expected to assist with marketing Gard’s capabilities in Singapore and South-East Asia, that requiring occasional regional travels.
You will ideally have:
Qualification and experience within an English/Common Law jurisdiction, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, or another comparable jurisdiction.
A minimum of 4–5 years’ PQE gained at a recognized maritime law firm, an International Group P&I Club, trading house, or similar organisation.
Experience handling Defence and/or P&I matters.
The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
It would be advantage if you also have:
Knowledge/ background in commodities and trade work and/or P&I and casualty
Exposure to casualty response and incident management.
Mandarin Chinese language skills or proficiency in another Asian language.
