Job Summary:
Responsible for managing legal matters and maritime claims for shipowner operations, ensuring protection of company interests and compliance with maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle maritime claims including cargo damage, collision, personal injury, and Charter Party disputes.

• Liaise with lawyers, insurers, surveyors, and Protection and Indemnity Club.

• Review and advise on contracts, charter parties, and shipping agreements.

• Manage claim investigations, negotiations, and settlements.

• Ensure compliance with regulations from the International Maritime Organization and other maritime authorities.

• Advise management on legal risks and maritime liabilities.

Requirements:

• Degree in Law, Maritime Law, or related field.

• 5+ years experience in maritime legal or claims handling within a shipowner or shipping company.

• Strong knowledge of maritime law, shipping contracts, and claims management.

• Experience handling disputes involving vessels and cargo.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple legal cases and claims.
