Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall management and strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Drive operational excellence across Marine, Technical, Crewing, HSSEQ, Procurement, and Commercial departments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, oil majors, classification societies, flag administrations, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and commercially successful management of the fleet.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to improve operational performance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgets, resource planning, and P&L management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior management teams while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, OCIMF, SIRE, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and Flag State requirements.
  • Represent the company at executive meetings, industry forums, and client engagements.
  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the ship management portfolio.

Requirements

  • Master Mariner (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
  • Sailed as Master on tanker vessels (Crude, Product, Chemical and/or LNG/LPG tanker experience preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of maritime experience, including significant senior shore-based management experience within a ship management or shipowning company.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multiple business functions and senior operational teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L, and client relationships.
  • In-depth understanding of tanker operations, marine safety, vetting, HSSEQ, and international maritime regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with shipowners, oil majors, charterers, classification societies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
