Job Description

  • Conduct onboard vetting audits, inspections, and vessel readiness assessments across the fleet.
  • Prepare vessels for OCIMF SIRE 2.0, CDI, charterer, and customer inspections.
  • Evaluate compliance with company policies, ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, Flag State, and Class requirements.
  • Review vessel operations, cargo handling practices, permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and safety management processes.
  • Verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, inspections, and vetting observations.
  • Provide onboard coaching and training to Masters, Officers, and Crew on vetting and operational best practices.
  • Monitor vetting performance trends and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Review and support PIQ submissions and SIRE 2.0 requirements.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions.
  • Liaise with shipboard and shore-based personnel to ensure continuous compliance and operational excellence.
  • Support the development and maintenance of fleet vetting standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master Mariner, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, or Second Engineer Certificate of Competency.
  • Minimum 2 years’ sailing experience in senior rank on LPG, Gas Carrier, Ethylene Carrier, Ammonia Carrier, or Semi-Refrigerated Gas Carrier vessels.
  • Previous shore-based experience as Vetting Superintendent, Marine Superintendent, Marine Auditor, or equivalent role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OCIMF SIRE 2.0, CDI, ISM, ISPS, MLC, SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW requirements.
  • Proven experience in vessel audits, inspections, vetting preparation, and compliance management.
  • Strong understanding of LPG cargo operations, cargo containment systems, and gas carrier safety management.
  • Experience conducting onboard audits, crew assessments, and training programs.
  • Excellent report writing, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and conduct vessel visits globally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and marine reporting systems.
