Job Description

Our client, a prominent player in the shipping industry, is seeking an experienced Vessel Manager to oversee the technical and operational management of their LPG fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive management for assigned LPG vessels, encompassing technical upkeep, budgetary oversight, operational planning, and strict adherence to safety and environmental protocols.

  • Develop and supervise ship maintenance plans, ensuring all machinery and cargo systems meet the rigorous standards required for gas carrier operations.

  • Guarantee that all vessels maintain full compliance with statutory regulations, Class society rules, and Flag State requirements, with a specific focus on gas carrier codes (IGC Code).

  • Coordinate and manage all surveys, audits, and certifications related to Class, Flag State, and international regulations.

  • Continuously monitor vessel performance metrics (including cargo handling efficiency and boil-off gas management) and initiate corrective actions to optimize operations.

  • Assume full financial responsibility for the assigned vessels, including preparing, controlling, and adhering to the annual operating and repair budgets.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline.

  • A valid Chief Engineer (Class 1) Certificate of Competency is mandatory.

  • Seagoing experience as a Chief Engineer on LPG carriers is essential; candidates transitioning directly from sea to a shore-based role are encouraged to apply.

  • In-depth knowledge of the specific safety and operational protocols for liquefied gas carriers is required.

  • Proven ability to manage technical projects, control budgets, and lead shipboard and shore-based teams effectively.
