Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Embrace safety and environmental preservation as fundamental principles.
  • Establish and maintain documentation for vessel installations, modifications, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the IT support team, applications group, and team leader to formulate system configurations in line with requirements, ensuring comprehensive technical consistency in IT solutions.
  • Take charge of overseeing the migration or enhancements of existing applications/systems, effectively providing implementation and operational support to projects, with a goal of meeting or exceeding SLA benchmarks.
  • Evaluate system architecture, perform testing, identify root causes, analyze solutions, and offer recommendations as needed.
  • Resolve issues, implement corrective and preventive measures, and educate the IT support team on multi-tiered application architectures employing various technologies aboard the vessel.
  • Engage in maintenance and support activities, including diagnosing problems, responding to incidents, and applying patches in a timely manner.
  • Possess extensive expertise in middleware standards and optimal practices for building a robust and resilient environment.
  • Maintain, monitor, and support the IT support team in matters related to cybersecurity, best security practices, and backup solutions.
  • Oversee and manage IT hardware procurement requests, with responsibility for vessel handover and takeover procedures.
  • Provide off-hours and weekend support as an essential member of the on-call support team.
  • Fulfill and meet monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for vessel ticketing, communication tasks, and ongoing projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or an equivalent field.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in deploying IT systems.
  • Possess expertise in Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications (including Office 365, MS Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory), Antivirus software, network switches, UPS, firewalls, storage/backup, and replication systems (Certifications are advantageous).
  • Excel in Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Environments, particularly involving thin clients.
  • Understand IT infrastructure, cloud services, and communication systems, along with proficiency in data cabling, communication, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • Exhibit proactiveness, dynamism, and a strong sense of responsibility with a focus on customer satisfaction and multitasking abilities.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Adapt effectively to diverse working environments.
  • Possess strong communication skills, encompassing verbal, non-verbal, and written communication, with the capacity to interact with team members at all organizational levels.
