Job Description
- Collaborate with internal and external ICT providers/vendors to manage and support vessel IT systems effectively.
- Address and resolve vessel IT operational issues proactively while sharing technical expertise in broader vessel IT projects.
- Ensure the stability and availability of vessel IT equipment, services, and satellite communications to maintain business continuity.
- Deliver IT support and ensure quality service across all vessels.
- Under the guidance of the Fleet IT Manager, conduct thorough assessments of systems, applications, and processes to identify cybersecurity risks and control gaps.
- Communicate openly with the Fleet IT Manager to implement updated cybersecurity methods and policies.
- Install, test, maintain, and support onboard hardware and software applications.
- Manage fleet databases by updating and maintaining relevant documentation and system logs to ensure accuracy and currency.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical or Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in networking and experience with firewall and managed switch configuration.
- Familiarity with Windows Server Administration, VMware, and virtualization implementation.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, backed by sound reasoning and judgment.
- Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills to establish credibility and demonstrate expertise.
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel as needed.
- Practical experience in vessel IT application management, database management, cybersecurity, incident management, and satellite communication equipment (e.g., VSAT, L-Band, LEO) is an advantage but not mandatory.
