Job Description
Responsibilities
- Trade physical renewable fuels and environmental credits across regional and international markets.
- Develop and execute trading strategies across renewable products such as SAF, HVO, biodiesel and other renewable fuel products.
- Manage trading positions, market exposure, price risk and hedging activities.
- Identify new sourcing, supply, trading and offtake opportunities within the renewable fuels market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, producers and trading counterparties.
- Negotiate spot transactions, term contracts, supply agreements and offtake arrangements.
- Monitor renewable fuel markets, supply and demand fundamentals, pricing movements and regulatory developments.
- Identify commercial opportunities across renewable feedstocks, physical fuels and environmental credit markets.
- Manage and optimise physical product movements, storage and supply chains where required.
- Understand and manage renewable fuel compliance requirements and relevant environmental credit schemes.
- Conduct market analysis and provide insights on competitors, regulations, pricing and emerging renewable energy trends.
- Work closely with Refining, Marketing, Commercial, Emerging Energy and Value Chain teams to optimise trading opportunities.
- Ensure trading activities comply with company risk management policies, trading limits and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, Maritime, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in renewable fuels, environmental credits, biofuels, physical energy trading or commodity trading.
- Exposure to products such as SAF, HVO, renewable diesel, biodiesel/FAME or renewable feedstocks would be advantageous.
- Understanding of environmental credits and renewable fuel compliance markets.
- Strong knowledge of physical and/or financial commodity trading.
- Experience in position management, price risk management and hedging.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to identify profitable trading opportunities.
- Good understanding of supply and demand fundamentals within energy and renewable markets.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management and business development capabilities.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Knowledge of physical product movements, marine logistics, storage or refinery operations would be advantageous.
