Job Description
- Develop, manage, and trade global renewable fuels and environmental credit opportunities, with a focus on trade exposure management.
- Execute and manage both physical and financial trading activities across renewable fuels and credit markets.
- Develop new business opportunities within renewable fuel and environmental credit markets.
- Expand and diversify renewable fuels trading activities across Asian markets.
- Manage and optimize storage locations to support trading and supply activities.
- Secure and manage term offtake and supply agreements.
- Diversify feedstock and renewable fuel supply sources.
- Develop and maintain renewable fuels and credits trading positions across Asia.
- Develop trading strategies and actively manage market positions and exposure.
- Identify, pursue, and implement new sourcing, trading, and commercial opportunities.
- Manage and optimize price risk exposure arising from trading activities using appropriate risk management and hedging strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external trading counterparties, suppliers, customers, and consultants.
- Understand counterparty requirements, commercial strategies, business drivers, portfolio positions, and market views.
- Work closely with global trading teams to manage and optimize the renewable fuels portfolio.
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to renewable fuels and environmental credit trading in Asia.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across commercial, refining, marketing, and emerging energy functions.
- Provide market intelligence, trading insights, and analysis to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Support strategic initiatives involving renewable fuels, trading, supply, refining, marketing, and emerging energy activities.
- Develop strong market expertise in renewable fuels, environmental credits, and associated trading activities.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the renewable fuels trading business in Asian markets.
- Work flexibly across different time zones to manage communications with global customers, suppliers, and trading counterparties.
Requirements
- Legally authorised to work in Singapore on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions.
- Minimum 18 months of trading experience in renewable fuels and environmental credit markets.
- Demonstrated ability to make real-time commercial decisions with significant financial impact, both independently and as part of a trading team.
- Strong understanding of risk management and hedging tools used to manage trading positions.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, trading counterparties, suppliers, and consultants.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced team environment.
- Self-motivated and commercially driven, with the ability to identify business opportunities and develop new areas of growth.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to reassess market conditions and adjust trading views accordingly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience trading renewable fuels, particularly Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) or Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of agricultural financial markets and biofuel markets.
- Understanding of the commercial and economic value of biofuels within the clean products supply chain.
- Knowledge of global renewable energy policies and environmental credit schemes, such as the U.S. Renewable Volume Obligation (RVO) and Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs).
- Demonstrated ability to generate commercial value through trading or marketing activities in Asian markets, preferably covering both physical and financial products.
- Previous experience in marketing, trading, refinery, blending, or oil movements operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of marine and shipping considerations related to the movement of petroleum and renewable products.
- Understanding of oil refining processes, product specifications, supply and demand fundamentals, and global market economics.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to manage communications across global markets and with key customers and suppliers.
- Willingness to travel approximately 5–20% as required.
