Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute profitable dry bulk trading strategies across short and long-term horizons.

  • Source and manage cargo and vessel opportunities, balancing freight and commodity positions.

  • Negotiate charter party agreements (spot, COAs, TCs) and manage voyage profitability.

  • Maintain strong relationships with commodity producers, traders, shipowners, operators, and brokers.

  • Monitor and analyze global dry bulk market trends, freight rates, and supply/demand fundamentals.

  • Work closely with operations, risk management, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of trades.

  • Identify new market opportunities and clients, including expansion into new geographies or commodities.

  • Ensure compliance with internal risk controls, trading limits, and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in dry bulk trading or chartering (handy, supramax, panamax, capesize).

  • Strong knowledge of dry bulk commodities and freight markets.

  • Proven ability to manage P&L and drive commercial results.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to make quick, data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in using shipping/trading platforms (e.g., IMOS, Veson, Eikon, or similar).

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and willing to travel when required.
