Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all technical operations of assigned vessels adhere to the specifications agreed upon in client contracts.
- Foster strong working relationships and maintain open, regular communication with client stakeholders involved in day-to-day operations.
- Provide consistent technical and operational assistance to an assigned fleet of vessels.
- Evaluate the performance of onboard machinery and systems, resolve any irregularities, and implement measures to boost safety and operational efficiency.
- Create and manage maintenance schedules and repair activities for vessels, including organizing and overseeing dry-docking processes.
- Manage vessel budgets effectively, ensuring expenses remain within limits and financial reporting is clear and accurate.
- Verify that all vessels meet legal maritime standards, safety protocols, and certification criteria.
- Perform technical checks and internal assessments to uncover improvement areas and confirm adherence to regulations.
- Enforce and support the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) policies onboard.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance performance across all technical management areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering
- Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency
Experience:
- At least 12 months of sea service as a Chief Engineer
- A minimum of one year of experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent
