Job Description

  • Ensure the technical availability and operational readiness of assigned vessels in line with approved budgets and operational requirements.
  • Maintain full compliance with all Classification Society, Flag State, and statutory regulations at all times.
  • Promote and strengthen Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture through preventive initiatives and participation in incident investigations.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring maintenance programs are executed effectively and in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Monitor and control maintenance operating expenses (OPEX), participate in annual budget planning, and conduct regular cost reviews to ensure budget adherence.
  • Conduct annual technical inspections of assigned vessels and ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to onboard engineering teams, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external parties, including classification societies, flag administrations, suppliers, and service providers, to support vessel operations and maintenance.
  • Lead technical investigations, analyze operational issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet performance.

Requirements

  • Chinese nationality or Singaporean Chinese preferred.
  • Minimum Class 2 Certificate of Competency (CoC).
  • Shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent is preferred.
  • Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency or equivalent maritime qualification is an advantage.
  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience onboard vessels or within a shipping company.
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and international standards, including ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and STCW.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and vessel maintenance processes.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues, conduct investigations, and manage technical projects effectively.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good prioritization and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • Experience managing Offshore Support Vessels (OSV) or similar vessel types is an advantage.
