Job Description
Job Overview:
The role of the Technical Superintendent entails overseeing the technical aspects of designated oil tankers.
Supervisor: Reports to the Vessel Manager / Technical Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the vessels meet the required technical standards and performance benchmarks.
- Maintain an up-to-date and well-organized repository of the vessels’ certificates and documents.
- Effectively implement the planned maintenance system established by the company.
- Organize, plan, and supervise class, statutory, and other necessary vessel surveys.
- Coordinate, manage, and monitor dry-dockings and other essential repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Assess and promote the performance of the vessels’ crew.
- Develop and manage the technical budget for the vessels.
- Undertake any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Prior seagoing experience on tankers as either a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer (holding at least COC Class 1 or 2), or a minimum of 2 years of experience as a technical superintendent for oil tankers.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to integrity and professionalism.
- Showcase exceptional leadership, teamwork, management, and communication skills.
- Possess effective oral and written communication abilities in English.
