Job Description
Job Overview:
The role of the Technical Superintendent entails overseeing the technical aspects of designated oil tankers.
Supervisor: Reports to the Vessel Manager / Technical Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that the vessels meet the required technical standards and performance benchmarks.
2. Maintain an up-to-date and well-organized repository of the vessels’ certificates and documents.
3. Effectively implement the planned maintenance system established by the company.
4. Organize, plan, and supervise class, statutory, and other necessary vessel surveys.
5. Coordinate, manage, and monitor dry-dockings and other essential repairs and maintenance tasks.
6. Assess and promote the performance of the vessels’ crew.
7. Develop and manage the technical budget for the vessels.
8. Undertake any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Prior seagoing experience on tankers as either a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer (holding at least COC Class 1 or 2), or a minimum of 2 years of experience as a technical superintendent for oil tankers.
2. Exhibit a strong commitment to integrity and professionalism.
3. Showcase exceptional leadership, teamwork, management, and communication skills.
4. Possess effective oral and written communication abilities in English.
