Job Description
Main Duties
- Technical Management: Oversee daily operations of LPG/Ethylene carriers to guarantee dependability and effectiveness.
- Maintenance & Dry-Docking: Schedule,oversee, and allocatefunds for dry-dockings, repairs, and upkeep, ensuring adherenceto Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
- Compliance & Safety: Guaranteeconformitywithlegal, Class, and flag state guidelines,alongwithrigorous safety (HSEQ) benchmarks.
- Budgeting & Cost Management:Create and oversee technical budgets, guaranteeingcost-effective
- Technical Assistance: Offer technical assistance to onboard teams, resolve machinery issues, and evaluate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment malfunctions.
- Purchasing:Manage the promptarrival of technical parts and machinery.
- Crew Assistance: Communicate with onboard staff, suppliers, and technical teams to uphold superior operational standards
Requirements
- Experience: Prior sailing experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer on gas carriers (LPG/Ethylene/Ethane).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a similardiscipline.
- Certificates: Competency Certificate for Chief Engineer (Class 1).
- Abilities:In-depthunderstanding of gas cargo handling machinery, safety management protocols, and technical problem-solving.
- Travel: Capability to frequently travel globally to visit ships
