Job Description

  • Oversee the daily technical and operational issues of a fleet of ships, addressing overall maintenance, general status, operational efficiency, and repairs.
  • Ensure strict oversight of the operating budget, encompassing financial reporting and the preparation of yearly budgets for vessels.
  • Make sure vessels are certified according to international standards. Organize surveys and inspections, ensuring that all class conditions are fulfilled by the designated deadlines.
  • Accountable for Drydock maintenance – outlining, scheduling, and implementation, budget/billing resolution.
  • Perform Management Inspections. Recognize areas needing enhancement and confirm the execution of the corrective and preventive measures.
  • Evaluate and address vessel technical reports and monitor equipment performance. Examine the documentation and record-keeping of vessels to ensure adherence to international regulations and the Company’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Collaborate with relevant entities like Class, Oil Majors, Ship Owners, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to guarantee vessels.
  • Establish and uphold a secure, eco-friendly, reliable, and economical standard in line with corporate guidelines and processes.
  • Maintain uniform, professional, and effective service delivery standards consistently.
  • Guide and educate officers and crew.
  • Evaluate Officers’ performances and suggest appropriate measures.
  • Conduct interviews with engine officers to assess their eligibility for selection or advancement.
  • Carry out inquiries into incidents/accidents onboard when assigned by the Fleet Managers.

Requirements:

  • Possessing a Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency.
  • Experience on MAN B&W ME type engines as Chief Engineer or 1st Assistant Engineer is preferred for LPG / Ethylene / Ethane vessels.
  • Driven by technology, adept in a digital space, methodical in developing processes.
  • No experience onshore necessary.
  • Capability to embark on trips on short notice and oversee a 24/7 on-call routine.
  • Capacity to create, enhance, and execute secure and economical technical vessel management procedures.
  • A thorough understanding of the laws and guidelines that regulate the management of vessels.
