Job Description

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of assigned vessels.
  • Maintain full familiarity with the Company’s Management System.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the Company’s Management System.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of existing procedures or the development of new ones.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with the Company’s Management System for shipboard and departmental operations.
  • Assess and oversee the technical and operational performance of assigned vessels.
  • Ensure sound financial management and cost control.
  • Plan and coordinate vessel repairs and dry dockings.
  • Guarantee vessels meet all international certification requirements and standards.
  • Ensure vessels are adequately crewed with competent personnel.
  • Prepare and submit technical reports to vessel owners in line with management agreements.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and promote environmental and energy awareness onboard.
  • Provide technical and operational support to shipboard management as needed.

Requirements:

  • Possess a marine degree from a recognized university with at least three (3) years of experience onboard ships or within the shipping industry.
  • Alternatively, hold a Chief Engineer’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of sea service as a Chief Engineer.
  • Alternatively, have at least two years of experience as a Technical Superintendent in another shipping company.
  • Experience in container and bulk vessel operations.
  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the marine industry, including relevant rules and regulations.
  • In-depth technical understanding of assigned vessels.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and budget cost control.
  • Communication with Mandarin speaking clients.
