Job Description
Main Duties
- Technical Oversight: Oversee all technical and safety issues, guaranteeing compliance with company and industry regulations.
- Maintenance & Repair: Organize and track scheduled maintenance systems (PMS), conduct inspections of machinery areas, and oversee repair work.
- Dry-Docking: Organize and oversee the dry-docking of the vessel, including repairs and significant overhauls.
- Compliance: Oversee Class/Flag state inspections, certifications, and adherence to regulations.
- Operational Assistance: Provide guidance to Masters and Chief Engineers on technical matters, and examine incidents to execute corrective measures.
- Budget Control: Oversee ship operational budgets, encompassing expense management for maintenance and repairs
Requirements
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a comparable position, preferably with bunker barges or small tankers.
- Requirements: Previous experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
- Education: Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar field.
- Abilities: Excellent communication, leadership, and technical problem-solving abilities, in addition to knowledge of ISM/ISPS regulations
