Job Description

  • Monitor vessel compliance with international regulations, class and flag survey requirements, and marine standards.
  • Provide guidance on implementing safe procedures for health, safety, security, and environmental protection.
  • Prepare vessels for inspections, including SIRE and Oil Major inspections, and respond to inspection reports.
  • Ensure ships meet charterer’s requirements and respond to deficiencies found during PSC/FSC inspections.
  • Assist with technical matters, SMS revisions, and conducting ship inspections and audits.
  • Manage non-conformities related to safety and pollution, and assist in their resolution.
  • Investigate near misses, accidents, and non-conformities, and conduct risk assessments.
  • Act as a member of the emergency response team during emergencies.
  • Prepare for external audits and inspections, maintain fleet records, and manage vessel budgets.
  • Supervise vessel maintenance, repairs, and docking, and coordinate spares and stores supply.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and safety equipment, and update records and documents.
  • Compile and assess HSSE data for monthly, 6-monthly, and annual reports.
  • Manage SEEMP Part III, IMO DCS data, EEXI requirements, and submission to class/flag for verification.
  • Serve as the Company Security Officer (CSO) and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • Tanker seafaring experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer (minimum COC Class 1 or 2), or at least 2 years of technical superintendent experience for Chemical Tankers.
  • Demonstrates strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Possesses exceptional leadership, teamwork, management, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in spoken and written communication.
