A Technical Accountant (Marine) oversees financial reporting, compliance, and accounting activities associated with marine operations. The position guarantees precise financial documentation for ships, aids in budgeting and expense management, and ensures compliance with global maritime rules and accounting practices

 

Main Duties

  • Fiscal Reporting
  • Create and upholdprecise financial reports for ships and fleet activities
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing procedures
  • Guaranteeadherenceto accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
  • Accounting for Vessels
  • Track vessel operating costs (OPEX) and capital investments (CAPEX)
  • Monitorexpensesassociatedwithvoyages,including fuel, port fees, and
  • Align vessel accounts and discrepancies
  • FinancialPlanning & Projections
  • Aid in thedevelopment of yearly budgets for ships and divisions
  • Track actual performanceagainstthebudgetandexaminediscrepancies.

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline
  • Havinga CPA or similar certification is beneficial.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the shipping or maritime sector.
  • Familiaritywith vessel accounting and maritime operations is stronglydesired.
  • Knowledgeof ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
